Prospect Park

The Prospect Park Neighborhood is the area in the very southeastern part of Minneapolis. Those who live here enjoy its urban village feel–a small town in the big city–where they can walk to work, recreation, shopping, and community meetings & events. There are two wonderful community centers, Luxton & Pratt, located within its boudaries. The closest institutional neighbor is the University of Minnesota and they are not only close to both downtowns (10 minutes each by car and 20 minutes by bus) but also are centrally located to any place in the Twin Cities area.

Their sense of place is heightened because of clear geographic boundaries

  • On the west: the University of Minnesota;
  • the south: the Mississippi River;
  • the east: the city boundary between Minneapolis and St. Paul; and
  • the north: the railroad tracks and SE industrial area.

Prospect Park real estate stock is a one of older homes on tree-lined hilly streets and new urban lofts located on the commercial corridor of University Avenue.

These homes, combined with the historic “witches hat” water tower, ample parks, and bountiful new cafes, create a diverse neighborhood with longtime resident families and younger singles with urban sensibilities.
