These stately turn-of-the-century neighborhoods were the first 'suburbs' of downtown St. Paul. Then and now, they are home to wealthy St. Paulites. The tree-lined streets make house watching a joy! Fine examples of Victorian architecture are the norm here! Crocus Hill overlooks the Mississippi River as it moves out of downtown and its borders include Summit Avenue to the north, Lexington Parkway to the west, the Bluffs to the east and west. Cathedral Hill overlooks downtown from the Cathedral of St. Paul and its borders are Dale Street to the west, Interstate 94 to the north, Summit Avenue to the south and the Cathedral to the east.  These two neighbhorhoods are separated by the majestic boulevard, Summit Avenue, home of F. The appeal of both of these neighborhoods is the proximity to Grand Avenue, which is a wonderful mixture of apartment buildings from the turn-of-the-century, shops, restaurants, and homes. Grand Avenue stretches from downtown St. Paul to the city's edge at the Mississippi River. If elegance and picturesque views are your main criteria, Crocus Hill and Cathedral Hill are the places for you!
